This song has great relevance to Ukulele players. Is was sung by the voice of Jiminy Cricket in the film Pinnochio. This was Cliff Edwards - aka - ULULELE IKE.
Ukulele Ike was the most prolific entertainer of the early 20th century. He made many more records than Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra and starred in films and in broadway musicals. He had a beautiful voice which you can hear on youtube at the address below. Ukulele Ike became the first millionaire of popular American Music - yet he died peniless in an Old Mens' Home. His remains were not claimed for several days. His downfall was literally due to too much wine, women and song. He could never get enough of life's excitements !
